Danny Cowley described Huddersfield as the "perfect opportunity" as he was unveiled as the struggling champions league predictions new manager.
Cowley left League One Lincoln to take up the position at the John Smith's Stadium vacated after the departure of Jan Siewert earlier this season.
Cowley, speaking alongside his brother and assistant boss Nicky, said: "I expect it has been a difficult period for the football club but that excites me. We like challenges. We feel this is the perfect opportunity."
Huddersfield, who were relegated from the Premier League last season, have not won in 17 games in all competitions and are 23rd in the Championship with just one point from six games this term.
Cowley said: "I look at the job in front of us and can't wait to get started.
"We want to be challenged. I want lớn live life. The safer option would have been to stay at Lincoln, a club we loved and felt a connection with.
"It would have been a lot easier lớn stay but we are not interested in easy decisions. We want to test ourselves."

He said: "The short-term objectives are lớn find a way to play winning football but for us it has got to be a long-term project. Winning on Saturday is not enough for me. It is about winning.
"We are clear about the vision for Huddersfield Town. We know where we want to go."
Danny Cowley added that he and his brother very much come as a pair.
He said: "We are used lớn working together. We have lived our lives in each others' pockets. We are different characters but are very much aligned on the processes. Most importantly we have trust."
